About the Collective

About us

Rope Office Hours operates as a cooperative, which means we do not have a hierarchical structure, and all of our crew members get an equal say in how we operate. We are in the process of incorporating as a cooperative in order to formalise this. While our crew members might choose to perform certain roles for a set duration, we are all ultimately equally responsible for all aspects of the organisation.

All crew members volunteer their time and energy, and ROH operates on a not for profit basis, meaning that all profit we make is invested back into the organisation. This might be booking more expensive presenters, purchasing kit or just covering the basic costs of running the organisation. We don’t tend to make a lot of profit in the first place, as we try to make our pricing fair and accessible – essentially just covering our costs.

We believe in openness, transparency and accountability, and to this end we want to provide as much insight into the internal operation of ROH as possible. We will host a yearly AGM open to the public, and we welcome questions, queries and suggestions.
