- Uphold and model the 10C’s. Lead others by example.
- Actively stand against racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, body shaming, ableism, classism or any other type of discrimination. Take every effort to ensure that marginalised groups feel safe and welcome in our space.
- Maintain people’s privacy – especially since you will be privy to personal/sensitive info. Never share what’s not yours to share without explicit consent.
- Be aware and mindful of the position of power you are in as a crew member, a person who holds authority and might be looked up to. Be very cautious of engaging in any situations where you might unknowingly abuse that power, such as playing with or dating students.
- Be aware of your own bias and take steps to prevent it from having a negative impact on anyone. For example, remove yourself from mediating any situations of potential abuse from a person you are close to, asking a different crew member to step in instead.
- Our role is to facilitate and hold space – leave your ego at the door and approach every person and situation with humility.
- Be passionate about, and active in creating a safe(r) space for ROH crew and attendees.
- Be aware of, respect and clearly communicate your own boundaries. Don’t do anything you’re uncomfortable with, take appropriate precautions to avoid burn-out and seek support when needed.
- Commit to lifelong learning and development. Never assume you know everything or “enough”.
- Keep yourself and others accountable. Practice radical honesty and transparency.
